After our Council made the decision to give up the flowerbed a number of years ago, the community rallied around and took on the task with a winter and summer flowerbed always produced no matter what the weather.
This year, lockdown, made the task that much more difficult not knowing where our plants would come from or whether there would be a flowerbed display at all. But the local community being what it is rallied around once again, neighbours either donated their own home ground flowers or helped to donate money so that we could source flowers from local nurseries that were still producing through lockdown.
So with social distancing making the job even trickier this gave our artistic planters the base to produce a magnificent summer display that is not only appreciated by the neighbours but by all that pass by.
